While whether Casino Royale is Craig's best Bond is obviously a matter of personal preference, there's no denying that it ushered in an entirely new era for the character and put Craig into the conversation of the best actors to undertake the role. Skyfall, on the other hand, is closer to a more traditional Bond, featuring an older version of the character as he struggles to understand his place in the new world of espionage. Although No Time To Die was generally well-received and served as an adequate sendoff for Craig's character, the real debate regarding which of Craig's movies in the franchise is the best is really between Casino Royale and Skyfall.Ĭasino Royale is clearly the grittiest Craig Bond movie, following the character as he becomes 007 and essentially takes on his first big mission. Quantum of Solace and Spectre are generally regarded as lesser entries of Craig's while Skyfall is a major high point. Obanno was also featured in the 2008 video game Quantum of Solace, which incorporated scenes from the 2006 film. He is a major antagonist in the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale and was portrayed by Ivorian actor Isaach De Bankol. Like all actors who played the role before him, though, Craig's tenure as Bond was a little hit and miss. Steven Obanno was a fictional feared Lord's Resistance Army commander and terrorist who was in league with criminal organization Quantum. Although there may have been skepticism at first about Craig's ability to play the role of 007 after the likes of Pierce Brosnan, Roger Moore, and Sean Connery, Casino Royale ultimately proves that he's more than up to the task. Mikkelsen's comment, of course, speaks to Craig's talent as an actor, with his lack of poker knowledge not at all coming across on screen.
